Project Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer to lead projects aimed at improving workplace safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and overall company performance. This role requires collaboration across engineering disciplines and departments, including production, quality, purchasing, planning, and maintenance. The position involves managing and implementing new processes, equipment, and assembly systems to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the introduction of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and assembly systems.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements in safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Assess and select appropriate vendors for equipment acquisitions.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes aligned with competitive cost structures and organizational goals.
  • Continuously optimize existing processes and introduce improvements to ensure high performance.
  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to maintain equipment at peak operating conditions.
  • Design and specify tools, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing use.
  • Troubleshoot daily operations and ensure processes align with operational objectives.
  • Support process documentation and visual work instructions for streamlined production workflows.
  • Reduce operational costs through scrap reduction, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements.

Required Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects involving new equipment or systems.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Pro E, or SolidWorks.
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on metals preferred.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process improvement techniques, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong skills in engineering design and the ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial) or equivalent practical experience demonstrating industry knowledge.
  • Minimum of two years of experience leading projects involving capital equipment or system implementations.

Work Conditions:

The position involves a combination of desk work and hands-on project management, with occasional physical activity such as bending, lifting, or stooping required.
