General Description
- Drug Plastics is seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems used in industrial automation processes within the plastics industry.
- The PLC Programmer will collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing systems.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required
- Associate's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram
- Experience with PLC hardware and software platforms commonly used in the plastics industry (ex: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
- Strong understanding of industrial automation principles and practices specific to plastics manufacturing processes with ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams related to plastics production equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially in the context of plastics manufacturing environments
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment within the plastics industry is preferred
- Experience with Raspberry Pi for automation or control applications is a plus
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop PLC programs based on project requirements and specifications for plastics manufacturing processes
- Design and implement control systems for automated machinery and processes within the plastics industry
- Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software components specific to plastics production lines
- Conduct testing and debugging of PLC programs to ensure proper functionality in plastics manufacturing environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other control systems and equipment used in plastics manufacturing
- Provide technical support and assistance to production and maintenance teams working with plastics processing equipment
- Document and maintain detailed records of PLC programs, configurations, and modifications for plastics manufacturing systems
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to PLC programming and automation within the plastics industry
